COMMUNIQUE TO ALL SUGARCANE PLANTERS
CROP 2026 ONE STOP SHOP REGISTRATION
The Sugar Insurance Fund Board (SIFB) wishes to inform all sugarcane planters, métayers, cooperative credit societies, sugar estates and milling companies that Crop 2026 registration of cane plantations is scheduled to start on 4th May 2026 and end on 1st June 2026 for all planters and métayers who intend to harvest their sugar canes for Crop 2026.
The SIFB in collaboration with all Millers and the Control & Arbitration Department (CAD) of the Mauritius Cane Industry Authority (MCIA) will offer a one-stop shop service to all sugar cane planters and métayers for:
- Registration of cane plantations with the SIFB,
- Signing of cane contracts with the Millers; and
- Registration of cane contracts with the Control & Arbitration Department of the MCIA.
One-stop Shop Registration will take place at the following registration centres from Mondays to Fridays (excluding week-ends) during the month of May and on Monday 1st June 2026 from 09:00 hrs up to 15:00 hrs:

Planters and métayers are also advised that:
- The originals of a valid National Identity Card, a recent Utility Bill and relevant documents for land occupation (title deed, lease deed, location plan, affidavit, letter of consent of heirs, etc…) will have to be produced at time of SIFB registration.
- Registration with SIFB after 1st June 2026 shall be subject to a late registration fee.
- Cane contracts entered with Millers after 1st June 2026 shall require prior authorisation from CAD-MCIA.
- Any late registration shall be carried out only at SIFB Head Office (Port-Louis) or at any of its Regional Branch at FSA offices and Mare D’Albert.
- Following the registration of cane contracts with CAD-MCIA, any change in SIFB registration with respect to Agency has to obtain the prior approval of CAD-MCIA.
- The issue of duplicate registration cards in replacement of lost or damaged cards shall be subject to a fee.
